Kristen Hedger Archbold, RN PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona College Of Nursing.  Dr. Archbold completed her BSN degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, and then went directly into the doctoral program to complete her PhD in Nursing at Michigan. During the course of her doctoral studies, Dr. Archbold worked in the Aldrich Sleep Disorders Laboratory at the University of Michigan Medical Center where she was mentored in pediatric sleep disorders by Dr. Ronald Chervin.  Dr. Chervin and Dr. Archbold have together published several manuscripts on pediatric sleep topics. After completing her post-doctoral training at the University of Washington in Seattle, Dr. Archbold worked as the Research Coordinator in the Sleep Disorders Center of Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Her duties included patient and family advocacy and education and facilitation of a support group for families whose children use CPAP therapy.  Dr. Archbold has received funding from the ResMed Foundation for a prospective study to determine the effects of CPAP treatment on cognition and behavior in school-aged children.  She regularly presents her research findings annual SLEEP societies and nursing research society meetings, and her research is focused on understanding the links between cognition, behavior and sleep in school-aged children.
