Patricia settle, MS, RD |

Patty Settle, MS, RD, joined the Pediatric Pulmonary Center (PPC) in April 2008. As a Registered Dietitian (RD), she has been part of a premature infant formula research team at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, and has worked as a general pediatric and a neonatal intensive care (NICU) nutritionist at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She later became the nutritionist/case manager for the Child Development Clinic at the same hospital. As the Human Resource Manager for the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Ms. Settle developed all department educational, orientation and training materials. Branching into more extensive medical writing, Ms. Settle was published in the Kansas Nurse journal and the Kansas City Parent magazine with articles featuring pediatric nutrition topics. She has authored and edited numerous technical documents, as well as educational publications for physicians, allied health professionals, patients, and their parents. Most recently, as a medical writer and team coordinator, Ms. Settle conducted national site visits for the VRQC program of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). The program’s focus addresses continuing quality improvement (CQI) programs at hospitals nationwide. Periodically, she served as a faculty member for VRQC training programs. Ms. Settle received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado and completed two years of post graduate coursework at Colorado State University. After completing a clinical dietetic internship (with a focus in Pediatrics) at Arizona Health Sciences Center, she earned her Master of Science degree in nutrition, with a minor in adult education, from the University of Arizona.
